Westat, an employee-owned research corporation, is searching for a Tumor Registrar/Cancer Surveillance Analyst to be located in Washington, DC. Our job ID# is 7460BR.
POSITION DETAILS:
The successful candidate will conduct medical records abstraction and quality control activities; the abstraction and medical coding of cancer cases; visual review and editing; records consolidation; case finding and reabstracting field audits; preparation of procedures manuals to meet pertinent state cancer reporting requirements; and educational training activities in support of multiple cancer-related research projects.
CANDIDATE JOB REQUIREMENTS:
-A bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of experience in a central cancer registry and CTR credentials/eligibility are required.
-A master’s degree in a relevant area is preferred.
-Experience with both hospital and central registry operations, experience with research protocols, and/or experience with data analysis are a plus.
Any offer of employment will be contingent upon receipt of acceptable results from a background screening based on the specific position which will include, at a minimum, criminal records history.
