Leaders For Today is searching for an Interim Director of Coding to be located in Massachusetts, city is confidential.
The Director will oversee the day-to-day activities, such as staffing, workflow, work routine, and special projects and makes the changes as necessary. The Director will ensure the Coding Department provides timely and accurate administrative and clinical data to ensure optimum reimbursement via random review of coded records. The Director will train coding staff in current coding and reimbursement methodologies as well as assist the staff in working Claim Trust Scrubber reports. The Director will participate in audits and appeals with the various insurance carriers, including RAC audits and serves as liaison between the HIS Department and Patient Accounts Department and Case Management. The Director will manage Coding Staff, including interviewing, hiring, performance appraisals, and recommendations.
The Director must have a Bachelors Degree. RHIA or RHIT is required, a CCS certification is preferred. The Director must have 2-3 years management experience with 5+ years in an acute care hospital coding department.
