Candidates will be responsible for the successful management and administration of the Health Information Management Department – including patient records (both electronic and paper), revenue reimbursement, monitoring, reporting and department budget development and implementation.
Candidates we are seeking must meet these minimum requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years HIM Director experience in any size facility.
- A minimum of 3 years direct staff management authority and responsibilities, including hiring and firing.
- Demonstrated experience with Revenue Cycle Management and Clinical Documentation Improvement.
- Experience developing and implementing HIM policies and procedures for the HIM Department.
- Experience providing HIPAA privacy and Release of Information education and training to facility employees.
- A working knowledge of current federal and state laws pertaining to all aspects of HIM compliance.
- Mentors and supervisors department productivity and strives to implement needed improvements.
- Knowledge of current industry acceptable-use practices and requirements.
- Must have a Bachelors’s Degree in HIM or related field.
- Mist have RHIA, or RHIT credential. If CPC certified, must have 2nd AHIMA certification, and a Bachelor’s in HIM or related field.
