LexiCode is searching for a full time travel Consulting Services, CDI and Coding professional..
LexiCode, the leader in HIM Consulting Services, has opportunities available for positive and energetic HIM professionals to support our onsite consulting services. Consultants in this role support several of our Consulting Service lines and must be proficient in Coding, DRG methodology and CDI Programs.
Duties may include reviewing inpatient medical records for coding validation and/or physician documentation improvement needs, potential compliance issues, appropriate reimbursement, and clinical severity; train clients on clinical documentation improvement or coding; manage CDI projects, including presenting findings and tracking the post implementation improvement process; and build & maintain professional relationships with clients. Weekly travel out-of-town M-F of each week is necessary in order to perform these onsite services for our clients.
Requirements:
- RHIA, RHIT, or CCS credential from AHIMA;
- Proficiency assigning ICD-9-CM, CPT and HCPCS codes;
- Strong clinical knowledge with RN is preferred;
- CDI program experience in an acute care setting;
- Solid understanding of DRG classification methodology;
- Experience identifying medical necessity;
- Excellent written and verbal communication;
- and, the ability to travel out-of-town M-F each week.
