Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas is seeking an HIM Manager to lead the Medical Records and Processing department. This full time position is scheduled 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm.
Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas is an 866-bed hospital located just north of downtown Dallas. We are a community-based hospital serving as a referral center for North and East Texas. There are more than 1,200 physicians on our medical staff, and we offer a full range of care including services for cancer, cardiovascular problems, neuroscience needs, orthopedics, senior care and women’s services. From our Stereotactic Surgery Program for Parkinson’s disease to our Gamma Knife for treating tumors, we are able to offer a wide range of services to care for complicated medical conditions, which make our facility intensely qualified to serve our community and your professional aspirations.
Position Responsibilities:
- Scheduling of staff and assignment of work and work requests in a manner that achieves the timely analysis of IP, OPS, ED, OP and OBS records.
- Timely availability of Information, identification and action plans for retrieval of “missing” records.
- Timely monitoring and Reporting of Physician Delinquent Record and Suspension.
- Develops review processes to monitor and report compliance with state, federal and Joint Commission record content requirements.
- Collaborates with the director in the development of action plans to address deficiencies.
- Develops and implements standards to measure the quality and timeliness of work and incorporates results into employee meetings and annual review.
Management of Budget and FTE resources:
-Financial Management of FTEs’ performance and development (12 employees).
-Continuing Education and training of staff and personal development.
-Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Candidate Qualifications:
-Associate’s Degree in Health Information Management.
-RHIT certification.
-Two (2) years of Management experience within a Health Information department is required.
Minimum Skill & Requirements:
-Ability to lead, educate, and motivate teams.
-Excellent communication and project management skills.
-Ability to create and manage operational and capital budgets.
-Knowledgeable of formulating, organizing and compiling statistical data as needed.
-Proficient in developing and revising existing policies and procedures to reflect new and changed processes.
-Proficient knowledge of state and federal guidelines regarding medical record content with the ability to interpret and apply those guidelines to the THD record.
