Position Responsibilities:
-CPT and ICD 9 coding for surgical specialty and office based procedures.
-Researches payer/coding guidelines and payment policies and reports findings.
-Participates in provider/staff education.
-Contacts providers for appropriate coding as necessary.
-Requests clarification on provider coding from site personnel when appropriate.
-Assures accuracy, adheres to compliance and payer regulations/policy.

Candidate Qualifications:
-High School diploma or equivalent.
-CPC or CCS-P certificate required.
-1 to 2 years of ICD9/CPT Surgical/Cardiac coding experience.
-In depth knowledge of third-party professional billing and payer requirements.
-Computer skills and ability to maneuver around database easily.
-Excellent organizational and oral/written communication skills imperative.
-Ability to work independently.
