Founded in 1912 by the Lutheran Church, Legacy Emanuel Medical Center occupies a vital role in the metropolitan area and in the region as a medical center with around-the-clock expertise for critical health conditions.
With leading care for trauma, burn and intensive care, as well as serving as the hub for critical care transport, Legacy Emanuel is central to high-acuity care. Legacy Emanuel also promotes prevention efforts and catalyzes support for neighborhood development and growth.
Legacy Emanuel Medical Center is recruiting for an experienced Trauma Registrar to join our dynamic team of professionals. The Trauma Registrar collects, abstracts and enters clinical data for all trauma patients admitted to or evaluated by the trauma service. Data is entered into the pre-defined database to ensure the hospital remains compliant with all standards as they relate to Joint Commission, American College of Surgeons (ACOS), National Trauma Database (NTDB) and the State of Oregon.
Candidate Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess the following education and experience:
Completion of AHIMA approved program or college degree in a health related field.
Three years inpatient ICD-9 coding and/or Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS) coding and trauma registry abstracting preferred.
Certified Trauma Registrar preferred or certification completed 1 year from hire.
RHIA, RHIT, CCS or other equivalent certification.
