Legacy Health has an opening for a Cancer Registrar. This position is responsible for maintaining the Cancer Registry records through case finding, suspense files, abstracting and follow-up. This role also involves the organization of Cancer conferences, assisting with patient care evaluation studies, annual reports and quality control. This is done according to the American College of Surgeons and Oregon State Cancer Registry standards.
Candidate Qualifications:
Successful candidates will possess the following education and experience:
Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) required or completion of CTR certification within three years of hire into position.
Knowledge of diagnosis and coding systems, i.e. ICD-0, ICD-9 CM coding, FORDS, AJCC, SEER and Collaborative staging.
Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) preferred.
Experience in Health Information Management and/or Cancer Registry preferred.
Experience within ACoS approved Cancer Programs preferred.
Experience with a cancer registry database preferred.
