| Oakton Community College is searching for a full time, tenure track Health Information Technology faculty member. Position is located at Des Plaines and Skokie, Illinois campuses. This position begins with the 2010-2011 academic year on August 16, 2010. Deadline to apply is 2/15/2010.

Oakton is seeking enthusiastic faculty who are committed to innovation
in college-level teaching and learning, and interested in
non-traditional delivery of instruction. Oakton faculty are expected to
engage in professional development activities, and institutional and
departmental service. Prior undergraduate teaching experience is preferred.
Candidate Qualifications:
Successful candidate will have Bachelor’s degree in health information, or related discipline.
-RHIA or RHIT certification.
-Three years of clinical RHIT or RHIA work experience in a healthcare facility with experience and skill in medical coding ICD-9-CM and CPT in a variety of settings.
-A Master’s degree, prior college teaching and hospital setting supervisory experience are preferred.
-Strong computer and software skills.
-Primary teaching responsibilities include health information management, professional practice coordinator, medical coding and medical billing program.
-Ability to travel between two campuses and work a flexible schedule with evenings is required.
The salary range is from $41,785-$62,057 for a 9 month contract.
Additional salary can be earned through overloads and summer employment.
